Family Resources

Maryland Avenue Montessori families are encouraged to stay informed about what’s going on at our school. To be fully engaged in our children’s education and growth, please consider participating in one of the official school parent organizations:

PTO

Our Parents and Teachers Organization is one that you are already a member of simply by being a parent/guardian or loved one of a MAM student. There are no financial dues to pay; all we ask is that you participate in the fundraisers, family events and community building events through out the year.

Take a look at these recent PTO meeting minutes to stay up-to-date with activities and events! How do you get involved? All meetings are open to everyone, so please stop by! Email: ourmamcommunity@gmail.com.

School Governance Council

The School Governance Council (SGC) is made up of parents, teachers and a community representative. The SGC oversees the local school budget and participates in discussion about school policies and programs. Parents make up the majority of the SGC. The SGC meets monthly throughout the school year.

All interested parents/guardians are welcome to attend SGC meetings. You can check out their meeting minutes here.

Maryland Avenue Montessori School Fund

The Maryland Avenue Montessori School Fund is now entering its fourth year and most Maryland students have been able to participate in some of the activities that it supports, including classroom visits to the Urban Ecology Center, Mad Hot Ballroom and Tap, or the after-school Spanish classes. The Fund is our extension of the Milwaukee Public Schools Foundation. This board of parents, staff and community members work on large scale fundraising in an effort to create advanced educational opportunities for students at Maryland.

How do I get involved?  Contact Molly Collins, Fund Board Director.  You can check out the Fund meeting minutes here.
